The Canary Project

The Canary Project produces art and media that deepen public understanding of human-induced climate change and energize commitment to solutions. They support diverse projects involving more than 100 artists, designers, writers, educators and scientists.

The Canary Project is the founder of Green Patriot Posters, a messaging campaign that encourages all U.S. citizens to take part in building a sustainable economy. They commissioned posters from design leaders, and developed an online community for sharing and voting on original designs. The favorite posters are distributed through multiple channels (print, web, bus ads, licensing, etc.) to reach the widest audience possible. Green Patriot posters display an image of strength, optimism and unity.

I created and implemented a digital media campaign for The Canary Project in the spring of 2012. I collaborated with the curatorial team, Edward Morris (co-founder of The Canary Project and Green Patriot Posters), Susannah Sayler (co-founder of The Canary Project) and Ken Miller to promote the first solo exhibition of the Green Patriot Posters, Public Notice: A Green Patriot Salon, at Ed.Varie in NYC. Click here to learn more about the exhibition.

I also developed the social media profiles for The Canary Project on Facebook and Twitter.

Edward Morris also provided invaluable assistance in developing the storyline and editing of POST NEW BILLS: The Story of Green Patriot Posters, a short documentary about the campaign that I co-produced.
